Pre-Hire Drug Testing

It is imperative to do pre-hire drug testing.  Whether for safety reasons in manufacturing or building or for legal reasons. It is known that drug abuse affects quality of work and quantity of work done, let alone sick days. This is known information and not what this article is trying to go over.  Just setting the baseline of why this matters.  This article is about how to do the pre-hire drug testing more efficiently and maybe more thorough.

The earlier and quicker you can do a drug test when going through the hiring process the less money and time used or wasted on someone you cannot hire. Do it better

The saliva test will not turn up positive if a guy was drinking on the weekend.  This scares off employees because they might be great workers who only drink while not at work or on the weekend.  These days getting good workers is imperative.

Saliva testing is also less intrusive in that you do not need a private place and you do not need a trained person to take an applicant’s blood.  Some applicants are scared of needles and may not even apply if blood testing is mandated.

For Urine tests it is getting harder and harder these days to have a matching gender person verify the urine test is collected correctly. Or even have to visit a restroom.
