Keeping Police on the Street

Current tests to determine intoxication levels are taking too much time and keeping police on the street less. In the United States, 32 people die every day from drunk driving accidents. This is from alcohol intoxication alone! 30% of all motor vehicle accidents involve a drunk driver. In 2016 California, where collisions had fatalities or severe injuries, 83% of those accidents were caused by a driver or bicyclist under the influence of drugs or alcohol

There are about 1.5 million DUI arrests in a year. A DUI arrest can take hours for an officer to process. Cities, police departments and officers can save significant time and money by determining on scene if the driver is intoxicated and which drugs are in his/her system. If intoxicated drivers know that there are more officers on the road-they are less likely to drive. Drunk drivers that even perceive they will be pulled over will not drive. Simply decreasing the stigma around getting away with intoxicated driving can cause significant positive change. Physically seeing more police cars on the streets – rather than all at the department or jail processing lengthy DUI’s – will prevent accidents.

keeping the streets safer

EZ Saliva Flow II can give officers the ability to get intoxicated drivers off the road faster and more efficiently. One study found that a 10% increase in the DUI arrest rate is correlated with a 1% decrease in the drinking driver accident rate. A 1% decrease in the drinking driver accident rate saves many innocent lives. Allowing officers to process DUI’s more quickly allows them to get back onto the street faster-preventing more drug or alcohol related fatalities. This will keep our communities safer. Furthermore, EZ Saliva Flow II tests will enables officers to protect citizens rather than respond to drug-related accidents; thus, keeping police on the street more.

Dual Saliva drug testing

Cities and departments are always looking to save money. This test can replace urine, alcohol breathalyzers, and blood tests. Alcohol breathalyzers are outdated and expensive. Blood draws are painful and many officers are not phlebotomy certified. Urine can be time consuming. EZ Saliva Flow II is done on site, with minimal training for officers. This gives results for up to 14 different drugs with one test. EZ Saliva Flow is customizable and has 30 different drugs to choose from. It is a legally defensible field test. It is a split sample saliva test, which means one part of the test will tell you which you drugs are in suspect’s system in 5-10 minutes.

This first tests prevents officers from bringing in people who are not intoxicated. In addition, the other part of the test is then sent to a lab. The lab will find the level of intoxication for the particular drugs that are in his/her system. Test results are given within 72 hours. Blood tests often take 4-8 weeks to be sent back to the police department. This test has an accuracy rate of 99%. Saliva testing will help keep police on the street.

Breathalyzer

A breathalyzer is needed for a pure alcohol DUI. Not because the saliva test cannot know that alcohol was there but because laws state certain levels of blood alcohol is allowed or not. Also Saliva tests can show even if you just used mouthwash and did not drink any alcohol.

The quick way to save officers time is use the EZ saliva test II. This will let them really know if the person is on drugs. Without having to spend hours getting blood or urine tests done.
